Terms of service
1. Agreement
These terms are a contract between you and Buildella (“we”) for the myDev Kit Chrome extension, this website and the API behind them (together, the “service”). By installing the extension or buying a plan you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you are allowed to.
2. What the service is
myDev Kit is a developer tool for learning how web pages are built and for producing your own components: it inspects the DOM and CSS of pages you open, tests layouts at different widths, maps design tokens and exports a selected element as code. Paid plans add export formats, custom breakpoints, AI-generated components and a component library; what each plan includes is listed on the pricing page and may change over time with notice.
3. Accounts
Free features need no account. Buying a plan creates an account tied to the email you give at checkout; there is no password, and you sign in by a one-time link sent to that address. Keep those links private; anyone with a link can sign in as you until it expires. You are responsible for activity under your account. A subscription is for one person and may not be shared.
4. Subscriptions and billing
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, by card through Stripe. Prices are shown before you subscribe and in USD; taxes are added where required.
- Each subscription is for one person. Plans for teams are not offered yet.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time from the billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep paid features until then and are not charged again.
- If a payment fails we will retry and email you. Paid features pause while a subscription is past due and resume when payment succeeds.
- If we change a price, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal.
5. Refunds
[Refund policy: e.g. full refund within 14 days of a first purchase on request; otherwise no refunds for partial periods, except where the law requires one.]
6. AI features and fair use
AI exports are generated by a language model and can be wrong, incomplete or differ from the source. Review and test anything you use. AI features are metered per calendar month (300 exports on Pro Dev); identical requests are served from a cache without using quota. The quota is meant for interactive use by a person; automated or bulk use is not allowed.
7. Acceptable use
The service is for learning and for building your own components. You agree not to:
- Copy, scrape or reproduce websites, designs, brand assets or content that you do not have the right to use. Inspecting how something is built is fine; passing someone else’s work off as yours is not.
- Use the service to infringe copyright, trademark or other rights, or in breach of a site’s terms that apply to you.
- Use it against pages containing other people’s personal data without a lawful basis.
- Resell, share or automate access to paid features, or interfere with the metering, licensing or API.
- Reverse engineer the API or the entitlement tokens, or try to use paid features without paying.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules, after contacting you where that is practical.
8. Your content and outputs
You keep whatever rights you have in the pages you inspect and in what you export. We claim no ownership of exports or AI outputs, and you may use them for any lawful purpose, subject to section 7 and to the rights of the people whose work you studied. You are responsible for making sure you may use the inputs you give to AI features.
9. Third-party sites and services
The extension works on third-party websites that we do not control. Stripe handles payments and our AI processing provider handles AI requests; each has its own terms. We are not responsible for their services or for websites you inspect.
10. Our intellectual property
The extension, website, API and the myDev Kit name are ours or our licensors’. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the extension for the purposes in these terms. Open-source parts are covered by their own licences, listed in the extension.
11. Disclaimer and liability
The service is provided “as is”. We do not promise it will work on every website, be free of errors or be uninterrupted; browsers and websites change in ways we cannot control. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to [the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim]. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for consumers in jurisdictions with mandatory protections.
12. Termination
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time by emailing privacy@buildella.com. We can end this agreement if you materially breach it or if we discontinue the service, with at least 30 days’ notice and a pro-rated refund of any prepaid period in the latter case.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced on this page and by email to signed-in users at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept them.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and disputes go to the courts of [venue], without affecting any mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
